Jacob Iteba is a PhD student in Aquatic Sciences at the University of Eldoret and also works as a Fisheries Officer in the County Government of Busia, Kenya. He holds a BSc. degree in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from the University of Eldoret, Kenya and an MSc. degree in Limnology and Wetland Management, which was jointly offered by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria, Egerton University in Kenya and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, the Netherlands. His MSc. research focused on the influence of large mammalian herbivores on nutrients and carbon loading and benthic algal development in the Mara River, Kenya. Jacob is passionate about the conservation and sustainable management of aquatic resources, and his main interest is in the biogeochemistry and limnology of the aquatic systems amid climate change and multiple anthropogenic stressors. His PhD research will focus on the global change impact on biogeochemical processes in Kenyan tropical catchments.
